The mission of The George Washington University Alternative Breaks Program, operating within the Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, is to empower and challenge all students involved to understand their relationship with the global community through service, education, and reflection, while encouraging personal growth, social awareness, and active citizenship. Alternative Breaks provides the opportunity for students to explore community service in local, national, and international settings, fostering a Serve, Learn, Discover mentality in a drug and alcohol free environment.
